Assisting Our Veterans

Veterans’ Affairs offers aid and attendance as part of an “improved pension” benefit; this is largely unknown, but we want our potential clients to be aware of this benefit and to take advantage of it if it applies. The improved pension allows for veterans or their surviving spouses who require assistance from another individual to assist in basic needs to receive additional monetary benefits. 

We do not want our clients to overlook this benefit, as it offers additional support. Since this is considered a “pension benefit,” it is not dependent on service-related injuries for compensation. This can be used to help pay for in-home care or a stay in either a nursing home or assisted living facility . Rates differ between veterans and surviving spouses as well as a veteran with a spouse or a veteran with a sick spouse.
